Kyle Busch used a stout car, solid fuel strategy, and a final-lap pass of Ryan Blaney to win the XFINITY Series Lilly Diabetes 250 from the pole Saturday at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

Busch started out front in the Joe Gibbs Racing No. 54 Monster Energy Toyota — his first pole position in either the XFINITY or Sprint Cup Series in his injury-shortened season — and led 53 of the race’s 100 laps around the historic 2.5-mile rectangular track.

Ryan Blaney took the lead from Bush on a restart with about 25 laps left on Saturday.  After many attempts to try to get to the rear bumper and pass Blaney, Busch caught up to, and passed the Team Penske No. 22 Discount Ford in lapped traffic coming out of turn 2 on the final lap.  Needless to say, a dejected Ryan Blaney finished second.

In addition to the prize money for the race winner, this race was one of the four races in the DASH FOR CASH!

Regan Smith was the recipient of the $100,000 check, and therefore advances to the third round of the XFINITY Series bonus program, Aug. 21 at Bristol Motor Speedway.  Smith also won the first round at Dover, making him 2-for-2 and significantly wealthier than he was a couple of months ago!
