Saturday afternoon, in the Valley of The Sun, there was a throughly dominating performance exhibited by Kyle Busch during the Nationwide race at Phoenix International Raceway! Kyle led 187 of the 208 laps, the race went into to overtime with a green-white-checkered. There was a yellow flag just as Kyle Busch was about to take the white flag, nullifying the large lead, and the sure win that Busch would was about to ring up.
However, that was not in the cards of ol Kyle Busch!
On the restart, “Blazingly Bad” Brad Keselowski drove his #22 Team Penske Discount Ford down on the inside of Busch, and really deep into turn #1. KyBu, out of character I might add, gave Keselowski enough room down on the yellow line to maneuver his car, gas it up, and mount a charge through the dogleg and down into turn #3.
As Keselowski rolled through turn #3 and got back heavy on the loud pedal, he emerged as the race leader, as he took the white flag. KyBu was unable to mount any kind of charge in the remaining lap, came up one position short and back about 10 car lengths in arrears of Keselowski!
As what happens from time to tome in this sport, the dominate car does not always guarantee that you will take home the hardware.
On this Saturday afternoon in Phoenix, that is exactly what was witnessed by this reporter!
TIL NEXT TIME, I AM STILL WORKING ON MY REDNECK!
