Jimmie Johnson arrived in Charlotte, N.C. in mid-May for the Sprint All-Star Race and the Coca-Cola 600 with people asking him when he was going to win a race this year. Two weeks later Johnson left Dover, Del. with people wondering when he would next lose a race!  My how the atmosphere in the media center has changed in less than 14 days!

Johnson dominated large portions of Sunday’s Sprint Cup event at Dover International Speedway, led a race-best 272 laps and won his second-straight race.

The victory was the 68th of the Hendrick Motorsports driver’s career, and ninth at Dover’s Monster Mile. It came a week after he won the 600.

“It was an awesome race car,” Johnson said. “The first run I wasn’t sure we were really going to have the normal Dover magic here. Once the track ‘rubbered’ in our car came to life and it was so good. It’s amazing that we can stay on top of things here with the different generation car, different rules, different tires. This place just fits my style and (crew chief) Chad Knaus’ style.”

TIL NEXT TIME, I AM STILL WORKING ON MY REDNECK!
