Earnhardt Ganassi Racing with Felix Sabates (EGR) announced who the replacement driver for Juan Pablo Montoya is for 2014. That announcement was not a very well guarded secret. The new driver in 2014 for EGR is the young phenom from Elk Grove, CA, Kyle Larson.
Kyle Larson, a 2013 NASCAR Nationwide Series driver and the 2012 NASCAR K&N Pro Series East Champion, will take over as the driver of the #42 Target Chevy SS beginning in 2014. The EGR development driver has turned heads in NASCAR competition for the last two seasons where this year he currently sits eighth in the NNS standings.
In addition, in just two NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) starts this season, the two-time SPEED Performer of the Year Award Nominee (2011 and 2012) has one win and a second-place finish.(Earnhardt Ganassi Racing)
As I have been alerting my readers this year, “keep you eye on this young gun”! I have watched Larson race midgets and sprint cars on the West Coast over the last three years, and this young 21 year old racer is the real deal! Now time will tell if Kyle Larson can adapt to the pavement world of high speed door slammers, better known as NASCAR! Larson is a fast and assertive driver, now we will see if he can learn to be a smart racer!
TIL NEXT TIME, I AM STILL WORKING ON MY REDNECK!
