Richard Childress Racing let the cat out of the bag! On Tuesday, via a news release, the announcement was made that his younger grandson, Ty Dillon, would be moving up to the Nationwide Series in the black #3 Chevy that is currently driven by his older brother, Austin.
The press release follows:
Richard Childress Racing has partnered with D.G Yuengling & Son to be a primary sponsor on the #3 Yuengling Light Lager Chevy with driver Ty Dillon during the 2014 NASCAR Nationwide Series season. As part of their 185th anniversary of brewing great lager, America’s oldest operating brewery will be the primary sponsor on the RCR Chevy Camaro for eight races of the 2014 schedule. Yuengling Light Lager will be a key partner as Dillon moves full time to the Nationwide Series next season.(RCR)
Austin Dillon to Sprint Cup
With this press release Tuesday, RCR coincidently confirms the plans of both of his grandsons in 2014. Even though the press release only mentions what Ty Dillon will be doing in 2014, it also infers that Austin will be changing series, as well. By announcing that Ty Dillon taking the driver’s seat of the RCR Nationwide Series black #3 Chevy in 2014, it confirms the rumor that Austin Dillon is going to move up to the Sprint Cup Series. Furthermore, there have been rumors that Austin is destined to take up residence in the RCR #29 Chevy, rebranding itself as the black #3 Chevy in 2014!
Again neither of these ideas were well concealed in the garage area this season. Nevertheless, now these rumors have come to fruition for the 2014 season! So sports fans, get ready to see the RCR black #3 back on the track in the Sprint Cup Series in 2014 with Austin Dillon behind the wheel!
TIL NEXT TIME, I AM STILL WORKING ON MY REDNECK!
