Martin Truex, Jr. went 218 races between race wins!
All that ended today when Truex, who dominated the Toyota SaveMart 350, took the checkered flag at Sonoma Raceway. Even though that 218 races represents six years, that is only half the amount of winless races that Michael Watrip Racing team owner, Michael Waltrip, had before his first win. Michael Waltrip went 0-fer-462!! Nevertheless, to Truex 218 races was an eternity!
With this win, Truex set a NASCAR Sprint Cup Series record for the largest number of races between a driver’s first and second victories.
Truex had finished second six times since his June 4, 2007 win.

TIL NEXT TIME, I AM STILL WORKING ON MY REDNECK!
