Friday night, on night #1 of the Lucas Oil ASCS (American Sprint Car Series) National Tour, Jason Johnson, the Ragin’ Cajun, started the main event on the outside front row. From the drop of the green flag, it did not take long before Johnson assume to helm, the point, the lead, and dominated 25 car main event field.
When the checkered flag waved, it was “The Ragin’ Cajun”, Johnson, who was able to hold of Mitch Olson, Tony Stewart, and Lucas Wolfe at the end of the 30 lap, $3,000 to win A feature!
It has been a year since the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour clay track warriors last thrilled the crowd with the speed and precision, side-by-side racing, that comes with the Lucas Oil ASCS 360 sprint cars. The standing room only crowd got there money’s worth on Friday night, with 31 sprint cars showing up for the first of two nights of racing at “The Diamond in the Desert”, Cocopah Speedway.
Tonight the national tour will back on the track for another great night of sprint car racing. The feature tonight will pay a whopping $10,000 to win! Keeping the $10,000 purse in mind, there is no doubt that there will be more racers show up for the Saturday night show! Additionally, there will be no doubt that the race fans will get another exciting night of fast cars, slick driving moves, mud slinging, bonzai attempts, and side-by-side racing.
PS Tony Stewart gets $15,000 for just climbing into his sprint car for these two nights of racing, no matter where he finishes! Not a bad weekend of fun for “Smoke”!
Remember, the winner tonight wins $10,000. That is $5,000 less than “Smoke” gets for just climbing into his sprint car! Hmmmmm……
See you at the track, race fans!
TIL NEXT TIME, I AM STILL WORKING ON MY REDNECK!
