While the temperature in the greater Tucson area continue to be abnormally low, plummeting to below freezing at night, the racing once again heated up at the Tucson International Raceway Sunday night.
Chris Simpson, who had been knocking at the door in the Saturday night feature, scored his first victory in the 2013 Winter Extreme racing at Tucson. He was dogged for a majority of the 40 lap feature by a veteran of late model racing, Jimmy Mars. However, Mars could only get to his bumper, never being able to slip past Simpson on the track.
