Ty Dillon, driving the #3-Bass Pro Shops/Tracker Boat Chevrolet for Richard Childress Racing, was the fastest qualifer with a top speed of 177.291 mph. That was fast enough to win the Keystone Light Pole for the Fred’s 250 Powered by Coca-Cola at Talladega Superspeedway.
This is his third Camping World Truck Series pole for 2012. The Gunbroker.com #23 Ford driven by Jason White was second. Rounding out the top ten were; #31-James Buescher, #5-Aric Amirola, #33-Cale Gale, #18-Kurt Busch, #11-Todd Bodine, #17-Timothy Peters, #7-Parker Kligerman, #9-Ron Hornaday Jr.
The weather at the race track was really great! The high temperature was about 80 degrees, under clear skies, with just a light breeze coming our of the west. The forecast weather for tomorrow’s truck race is more of the same!
Unlike the past two years, when the weather is overcast, cool, and occasionally raining and foggy, Saturday will be a very good day to play rough, and possibly get sent to the showers!
From my seat at the race, the O.V. Hill South Tower row 73, seats 20 and 21, the view is simply spectacular!
See you at the race track.
TIL NEXT TIME, I AM STILL WORKING ON MY REDNECK!
