Whether the win is your first, your fourth, or your very first, they are very special!
Saturday night at the Cocopah Speedway all of those things rang true. Yuma’s Miles Morris won his very first main event in the Factory Stock division. So he is now one for six! That is, he has won one race in the six events that he has participated in, not a bad average so far.
Miles’ teammate, Bobby Horton, won his first main event in the Street Stock 2012 season. After winning the race, Horton dedicated the victory to his car owner, the legendary Dick Rautenberg, who is ill.
In the Pro Stock division, Yuma’s own Brett Simala won his fourth feature event in his career.
And then there was Steven Daffern, who won thirteen out of eighteen feature races back at the old Yuma Speedway in 1999. However, when Daffern won the modified main event Saturday night at the renamed Cocopah Speedway, thirteen years after his dominating run in 1999, which was also his first win in the modified division,Daffern indicated that this win was just as fantastic as his run thirteen years ago!
Check out the official results from all the racing at Cocopah Speedway Saturday night, April 7th.
TIL NEXT TIME, I AM STILL WORKING ON MY REDNECK!
