Todd Bodine scores his sixth win at Texas Motor Speedway  Friday night in the WinStar World Casino 400k.  “The Onion” ended his 24 race win draught with this Texas victory.  This was the second time that Todd Bodine had a 24 win draught that was successfully ended by a victory at the Texas Motor Speedway!

In a late race Green-White-Checker restart, it was Bodine who got the best restart over the “king of restarts”, Ron Hornaday.  Not only did Bodine have to hold off Ron Hornaday, he had to fend off challenges from Johnny Sauter, Austin Dillon, and Mike Skinner as well.

This was Bodine’s 18th victory in the Camping World Truck Series, putting him in a three way tie for 4th on the all time win list in that series with Dennis Setzer and ol Kylie Busch.  There is something about Bodine and 1 1/2 mile race tracks.  It seems that the Germain Racing really has an uncanny ability to survive and surface at the end of the race in the lead.

The real “dark horse” of this truck race was young Austin Dillon, son of  former racer Mike Dillon.  Driving the black RCR #3 Bass Pro Sports Chevy Silverado, Dillon is the grandson of  Richard Childress who also is the owner of the race truck, logged his first pole award of his very short NASCAR Camping World Truck Series.  Dillon remained very competitive all race and in the end raced Mike Skinner very hard right to the checkered flag besting Skinner by .004 seconds for third place in the race.

As always, the Camping World Trucks Series put on a great race at the Texas Motor Speedway.  More racing to come tomorrow from Nashville and the Nationwide Series drivers vying for the coveted custom designed Sam Bass Gibson guitar!

TIL NEXT TIME, I AM STILL WORKING ON MY REDNECK!
