Kurt Busch, driving the Penske Racing #2 Miller Lite Dodge, swept the All Star event last Saturday night, as well as giving “The Captain” a win in the longest NASCAR race of the season, The Coca-Cola 600, at the newly renamed Charlotte Motor Speedway.

The Kurt Busch win at Charlotte had to brighten up the day/night for Roger Penske.  After watching his odds on favorite fail to win what would be his 4th Indy 500, Helio Castroneves finishing 9th and  new guy, Will Power, finishing in 8th position.

Busch led the most laps of the evening, jumped back into the lead in a restart with 19 laps to go in race.  He quickly moved out to a very comfortable lead over  the 2010 Daytona 500 winner, Earnhardt-Ganassi Racing #1 Bass Pro Sports Chevy driven by Jamie McMurray, and was able to hold off his late race charge.  This was Kurt Busch’s second victory of the 2010 race season.

The two weeks that NASCAR got to stay “home” at Charlotte turned into a “Busch Wacker Festival”!  In the previous week, brother Kylie Busch won both the Camping World Truck race, driving his own KBM #18 Z-Line Toyota Tundra.  Then Saturday evening ol Kylie won the Nationwide race at Charlotte Motor Speedway driving the Joe Gibbs Racing #18 Z-Line Toyota Camry .

All in all the racing this weekend was very exciting, as always from both the Indianapolis Motor Speedway and the Charlotte Motor Speedway!

Just as a reminder, thank a veteran today it will make his or her day!

From one GI to all my GI friends and family—-you all have made a big difference in our lives.  Many thanks for the bottom of my heart!

TIL NEXT TIME, I AM STILL WORKING ON MY REDNECK!
