– The No. 25 team will utilize GMS chassis No. 053 at Talladega Superspeedway, the same chassis raced to an eighth-place finish in the 2018 season opener at Daytona. This chassis has seen success in the past with Grant Enfinger winning the pole in 2016 and Kaz Grala earning the pole and the race win in 2017, both at Daytona.
-This weekend’s Kingman Chevrolet will carry a special pink scheme for Breast Cancer Awareness featuring the names of the No. 25 team’s family and friends including Peters’ close friends, Sheri Stallings, and Elaine Compton, and crew chief Jerry Baxter’s sister, Cheryl Smith.
– Timothy Peters last competed at Talladega in 2016, starting sixth and finishing third after winning in his two previous starts at the 2.66-mile track.
“Talladega can be a difficult place. Things happen quickly there and you really have to pick your battles and know when to make a move. GMS has always been competitive at superspeedways, so to be in top equipment with teammates who also have success at these bigger tracks is going to be a big benefit. It’s been an honor to join Jerry (Baxter) and the No. 25 team for these last few races. I’m incredibly thankful for Mike Beam and Maury Gallagher giving me this opportunity, I can’t thank them enough.”
TIL NEXT TIME, I AM STILL WORKING ON MY REDNECK!
