An IMS Reflection

There are certain venues that are immediately associated with their sport.  For instance, if you think of football, you immediately think of the home of the Green Bay Packers- Lambeau Field.  If you think about baseball, your first thoughts will probably immediately transit to Yankee Stadium.  If you think of basketball is there any other place than The Boston Garden, home of the fabled Boston Celtics?  When you think of golf, there is no other place to be than Augusta!

Well, when the auto sports enthusiast thinks about racing, most definitely the picture in your mind would be The Indianapolis Motor Speedway!  But do you really know the history of this hallowed grounds?  Most would know that it was built in time to stage their first race in 1909!  That is more than 100 years ago.  But do you really know how this facility came to be?  If you don’t know the history, then click on the link provided in the next paragraph and you can educate yourself!

For those of you who are not quite sure of all the history of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway look at this article chronicling the history of this hollowed race track.
